Premature or early baldness is a problem that occurs when a person suffers from severe or complete hair loss at a fairly early stage in life. There can be different causes of this problem like stress, pregnancy, poor nutrition,  prolonged medicine usage or some disease. It is found that 95 percent of premature balding is caused by a hormonal by-product called dehydrotestosterone or DHT. This one shrinks hair follicles and makes them unproductive. The hereditary of a person increases the production of DHT. With the enhancement in this by-product, there occurs some severe hormonal changes which gives rise to the problem of an early baldness. Pattern baldness- The male and female patterned baldness is called androgenetic alopecia. Mostly this problem occurs due to hereditary factors. In fact, hereditary also affects the approximate age at which you may suffer from this problem.

Cicatricial alopecia- Cicatricial alopecia is a problem when there occurs inflammation in the hair follicles. It may permanently damage and give scars on it. This sort of scarring prevents the hair from growing from the hair follicles.

Traction alopecia- Traction alopecia is a problem that arises as a result of the hairstyles which pull the hair too tightly. In fact, excessive brushing or hair styling can also damage the hair roots. If you stop doing too much hair styling then you can prevent the occurrence of this cause.

Trichotillomania- Trichotillomania is a disease of pulling hair. In this disorder, a person cannot persist the urge to pull hair. Generally, such patients pull hair from the scalp, eyebrows, eyelashes and other areas of the body.

Some other causes of this problem includes inadequate nutrition or the intake of certain medicines. The treatment of chemotherapy and radiation therapy also gives rise to this distress. Some hormonal changes during the time of pregnancy, childbirth, birth control pills, menopause and hypothyroidism also raise the illness of an early baldness. Certain fungal infections like ringworm causes temporary hair loss. So guys, these are the important causes of the problem of premature baldness.
